Hello, my name is Hayley Palmer and I am the Director of Talk With Ease Ltd. I am a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Makaton tutor working throughout Worcestershire and Birmingham.

 

I have 15 years of experience working in various settings including primary schools, preschools, clinics and secondary schools. I have taken on various projects in schools and preschools including setting up Wellcomm screening and intervention, delivering adult-child-interaction training sessions, running Developmental Language Difficulty awareness days, parent coffee mornings, and developing whole-school approaches. I am also a licensed Makaton tutor and have delivered training to parents and various professionals including school staff and ​members of the multidisciplinary team.

 

I have worked in the diagnostics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I am trained in administering Autism specific assessments such as the ‘Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule’ (ADOS) as well as using standardised speech and language assessments and other informal assessment tools.

I am trained in a range of therapy and strategies appropriate for children with speech, language and communication difficulties such as 'Colourful Semantics', 'Parent Child Interaction', Picture Exchange System (PECS), Social Emotional Regulation Transactional Support (SCERTs) assessment, Makaton with Singing tutor training, Edward Jenner leadership programme, Coaching skills for managers.

 

I like to look at each child as an individual, what are their interests, strengths, difficulties and then incorporate these into their targets. It is important to me that the child finds the sessions fun and motivating, whilst ensuring they make good progress. I am confident in my abilities and have experience improving the communication skills of many children. Working in this role is so rewarding and every day is different!

 

 

I have a license to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist with the Health Care Professionals Council and I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
